Reasons to hope No. 9

Hello Recycle Heroes! Here’s some great news for your Monday morning:

Dr Alex Carthey and her initiative group ReHabitat have created flat-pack biodegradable habitats to help re-house our ground-dwelling animals after bushfires. Not only do they protect them from predators, but the materials break down into nutrients for insects which become food for the wildlife. Talk about a cyclical ecosystem!

Australia has joined the The Group of Seven (G7) group of advanced economies — consisting of the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Italy, Germany and Japan, who are working towards net zero emissions by 2050. In March, parliament passed a law requiring Australia's biggest greenhouse gas polluters reduce their emissions or pay for carbon credits. We are on the right track!
